In lower Manhattan on Tuesday afternoon, a Muslim named Sayfullo Saipov, screaming “Allah akbar,” drove a rented truck along a bicycle path, killing at least eight people and injuring numerous others. According to Al Arabiya, “New York state governor Andrew Cuomo told media that there is no evidence to suggest wider plot or wider scheme.” And Time.com reported that Cuomo said that there was no “evidence of an ongoing threat or any additional threat.”
No evidence to suggest a wider plot or an ongoing threat? Really, Governor? Here’s some: last June, the Islamic State published a poster depicting an SUV driving over a heap of skulls and bearing the legend “Run Over Them Without Mercy.”

It’s important for readers to know that Female Genital Mutilation is not “Female Circumcision”. That is a term used by defenders of the practice in order to make FGM seem equivalent by comparison to male circumcision. Circumcision of males carries the same risk of infection as any other medical procedure that involves cutting skin but is otherwise harmless. Georgetown had changed the names of Mulledy Hall and McSherry Hall because Mulledy and McSherry had once been involved in selling some slaves back in the early 19th century. When Christina Hoff Sommers spoke at Georgetown, feminists demanded trigger warnings and a university official threatened College Republicans. But defending actual slavery and rape is still okay at Georgetown. So long as it’s committed by Muslims under the license of the Koran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with whom President Obama has had an abrasive relationship since day one, has specifically accused Obama of engineering the recent anti-Israel resolution at the UN. If the United States had vetoed the resolution it would have failed, but its abstention allowed it to go into effect. It is significant that Obama waited till after the elections to push this resolution as is the fact that he felt he needed to push it at all.
