What could be worse than Hitler and destroying planet Earth? Clearly nothing. So the establishment media, becoming amusingly less coherent on a near-daily basis since last month’s elections, has fallen into a feverish hysteria. Regardless of the fact that Donald Trump has never been a conservative nor any kind of political ideologue at all, and despite the fact that none of the people he has selected for cabinet positions thus far even donated to his campaign (most didn’t even support him), CNN and the lefty press wants you to know that you have elected Adolf Hitler.
Lord Acton’s famous saying has been quoted endlessly but can still never be repeated too often: Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely. The concept is actually an observation of the nature of the human heart, not yours or mine specifically but the human heart in general.
This election will determine the fate of our nation. With Donald Trump we have a chance, and it is only that. Over the past few years we have learned to our shock and dismay just how corrupt and out of touch our elected officials really are. They have an agenda and it does not include the American people, except in extracting as much of our resources as possible. They are a powerful force. I don’t know if Donald Trump can overcome it, but I do know that no one else can.
After a disastrous weekend for Obama’s immigration, gun control, and FBI policies, punctuated by yet more preventable Islamic terrorist attacks on American soil, the president really needed a distraction. And what better place for the Left to create this than at ground zero in one of the few states to openly – and popularly – resist Obama’s insane transgender bathroom proclamation. So agitprop thugs BLM are at it again, with an insta-mob riot in North Carolina where the Left really needs to get out the vote about a month from now.
There have been key moments in American history when the two parties in Congress operated as part of the same team, the Legislature, and stood up to difficult presidents. Nowadays it seems the president’s party in Congress is usually aligned with the Executive against the other congressional party. Different strategies for different times, perhaps, but one thing critically important about 2016 is that whoever is elected in November should be faced by a Congress that fears not the Veto Threat.
President Obama’s EPA has long sought to use the Clean Water Act, originally conceived forty years ago to prevent water pollution, to empower the federal government to directly control any land it designates as “wetlands” – with the owner of the land having no recourse to challenge the finding. Under such a rule the government could designate any land anywhere in the U.S. as “wetlands”, thus requiring the owner of the land to obtain special permits to do anything with that land. Who determines whether these special permits are granted to the owner? Why the federal government, of course.
