Qatar, the persian gulf state adjacent to Saudi Arabia which is one of the most significant funders of international islamic terrorism, recently purchased a 10% state in the Empire State building in New York City. It’s bad enough that the U.S. government allowed that to happen in 2015, but even worse is its new (part) owner’s insistence that the islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr be celebrated by lighting the top of the building all in green (green being the universally recognized traditional color of Islam.) It may seem like nothing important to most Americans, but to Muslims and especially Arabs, for whom symbolism plays a profound role in culture and religion which few westerners appreciate, it is highly significant.
Timidity in the face of barbarity. We’ve seen this pattern increasing across Europe as the 2015 wave of massive Muslim immigration has led to jihadist attacks and fear of attacks. Here was a case not so much of a specific threat as it was the native Dutch citizens deciding they simply didn’t want their elementary school children to experience an atmosphere of unease during a town Christmas festival.
In a sign the populist-right Front National’s presidential candidate Marine Le Pen is being taken extremely seriously by the French establishment, Les Républicains, party of former president Nicholas Sarkozy, has elected an outspoken Thatcherite to stand for the 2017 national election. Fillon is the author of the book Conquering Islamic Totalitarianism, has indicated his support for an anti-burkini law and embraces conservative economic views of working hours and pensions.
It’s fantastic: the naive, senseless hypocrisy of people feigning to possess the charity of Mother Theresa by simply verbalizing a political position. They propose to abolish national borders (and nation-states) and allow anyone and everyone to just float in, as if this is an undeniably loving action, instantly beatifying them as well as assuaging their chronic leftist guilt. Yet they continue to lock their doors at night and don’t want people loitering or pitching tents on their own property.
It was the worst election performance in history for the CDU in the Berlin state elections. “The fact that the anti-EU, anti-immigrant and anti-refugee AfD party could score such a high percentage of the poll in multi-cultural and ‘hip’ Berlin is an indication of how far Merkel has alienated voters with her refusal to change direction on the migrant issue.”

Media wonder boy Reza Aslan is behind the curve on this one: this particular talking point has already been debunked (not that he would care, or stop repeating it, if he knew).
